Top Thrill 2 reopening + new coaster Siren’s Curse on the way at Cedar Point
Siren’s Curse — a new, tilting roller coaster — will open at Cedar Point in early summer 2025, following the May 3 reopening of Top Thrill 2.

Siren’s Curse tilt coaster at Cedar Point in 2025
Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio will debut the Siren’s Curse roller coaster in early summer 2025. Categorized as a tilt coaster, a key moment of Siren’s Curse involves the track itself tilting directly downward, pivoting to connect with the next piece of the ride path. (Think of the opening scene in Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts at Universal Studios Florida, but outside and much higher, and you’ll get the idea.)
Siren’s Curse will reach a maximum speed of 58 mph and a height of 160 feet.

Siren’s Curse will have a height requirement of 48 inches.
Siren’s Curse will be themed to the mythical sirens in Lake Erie. The Great Lake is directly adjacent to Cedar Point, and is visible from many of the park’s coasters, including 2025’s Siren’s Curse.
Often spoken of — but never spotted — the sirens of the lake who lured sailors to their underwater demise with their sweet, seductive songs will finally rise to the land above Cedar Point and attempt to entrap you in a sinister two-minute fate of non-stop roller coaster innovation.

“Record-breaking thrills have always been at the heart of Cedar Point’s roller coaster lineup, and Siren’s Curse lives up to that standard,” said Carrie Boldman, VP and general manager of Cedar Point, when Siren’s Curse was first announced. “The entire ride is an experience filled with non-stop action, but that first precarious tilted position where you’re hanging on — looking straight down — and waiting for the track to connect will be a signature moment our fans will love. It’s a first-of-its kind for Cedar Point and we’re thrilled to bring it to our guests.”
Top Thrill 2 reopening May 3, 2025
For many Cedar Point guests, 2025 will bring two new coaster experiences, not just one. In addition to introducing Siren’s Curse, the park will reopen Top Thrill 2, which debuted in May 2024 and operated for just one week before closing for “mechanical modification.”

Following several months of uncertainty, in August 2024 Cedar Point released this statement:
We sincerely appreciate your patience while Top Thrill 2’s manufacturer, Zamperla, has been working diligently to complete a mechanical modification to the coaster vehicles.
Unfortunately, the manufacturer will not be able to complete the modifications needed in time to reopen the coaster in 2024. We are extremely disappointed that we cannot open the ride this season, but remain committed to delivering a reliable, consistent, and unparalleled coaster experience for our guests in 2025. In the meantime, please accept our sincere apology for the disappointment and inconvenience.
