A huge scale model of with augmented reality special effects, exclusive new merchandise, and more await guests inside the Universal Epic Universe Preview Center at Universal CityWalk.

In this story, we’re focusing on imagery from the Preview Center. Epic Universe will have five lands, and Universal revealed details about a few of these already. For information about Epic Universe’s worlds and attractions, see our previous coverage from the reveals of the park overview, How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk, Super Nintendo World, and Dark Universe. Epic Universe will open in 2025 (date TBA).

While the Preview Center doesn’t reveal much new information to superfans who have been tracking the park’s progress, many families will learn about Epic Universe existing for the first time by means of stumbling upon the Preview Center during their Universal Orlando vacation. Imagine not knowing about the park at all, then getting to see a full scale model in person.

First concept art inside Wizarding World, Dark Universe

The Epic Universe Preview Center debuts the very first artwork Universal has shared depicting the inside of Dark Universe and The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic, both by means of photo-ops. (The other worlds have photo-ops too, but Universal previously revealed their respective artwork.)

In the new concept art, we get our first look at the village of Darkmoor inside Dark Universe (inspired by the Universal Classic Monsters films), as well as 1920s-era Place Cachée inside The Wizarding World (as seen in “Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald”).

Augmented Reality

You can add augmented reality special effects to the scale model of Epic Universe with your phone. In doing so, you can see inside the Mario Kart ride, light a windmill on fire in Dark Universe, watch Stardust Racers coast along its track, peek into the “How to Train Your Dragon” show, and more.

Epic Universe Merchandise

Epic Universe merchandise has been available for awhile now, but it’s in full supply with several exclusive new collections at the Epic Universe Preview Center. Here you’ll find items branded to the park at large, as well as its families of characters and stories.
