Country Bear Musical Jamboree opens in July
This July, Country Bear Musical Jamboree opens for Magic Kingdom guests to enjoy a new “countryfied” version.

Country Bears Return from Hibernation
Fans can return to singing along with the Country Bears on July 17, 2024 when Country Bear Musical Jamboree opens at Magic Kingdom Park in Walt Disney World Resort. However, the music will be more modern when the Country Bears start singing again.

Country Bear Jamboree opened its doors on Oct. 1, 1971. The attraction featured Audio-Animatronics bears singing and entertaining guests with a classic country sound. Country Bear Jamboree closed earlier this year to enable the transformation of the show into a new concept.
In addition to new music for this show, we learned today that the bears received an upgrade in terms of costumes as Walt Disney World unveiled new outfits for Big Al and Wendell (below). These fancy new duds will be seen during the Country Bear Musical Jamboree show, and guests might even see them wearing them in the park.

Walt Disney World revealed these to media outlets today during an event at Magic Kingdom.
Country Bear Musical Jamboree music
Country Bear Jamboree served as a staple of Frontierland for decades in Magic Kingdom. The Country Bears’ nostalgic growling out of country-western tunes has kept audiences entertained for over 50 years.
Still, starting July 17, the Country Bears are back in the spotlight with some fresh country hits. Country Bear Musical Jamboree will star the same familiar bears performing in the same theater as the previous show version, Country Bear Jamboree. However, the songs will be totally new. For the new show, the Country Bears will sing Disney tunes rather than (’70s-era) country hits.

These musical hits will display a more modern Nashville style, with more diverse music than the previous version. At today’s media event, creatives stated that the new country-style music would be presented with an appeal to a multi-generational audience, referring to the show as being countryfied for the next generation. Walt Disney World previously shared a sneak peek at some of the country stars like Mac McAnally, who are inspiring the Country Bears’ new show with songs like “Bare Necessities.”
During this morning’s event, Disney invited Emily Ann Roberts, an up-and-coming country star and finalist on “The Voice,” to show off her twangin’ take on “Try Everything” from Walt Disney Animation Studios’ “Zootopia.” Take a listen:
Fans have only a month or so to wait to enjoy hearing these new songs performed by the Country Bears. Though we may miss some of the previous Country Bear songs, the Bears are back again starting July 17, 2024. How anxious are you to see these critters sing again?
