Epic Universe construction update: Chronos figures + themed ornamentation park-wide

Epic Universe crews are putting finishing touches across the park, while construction on the Chronos entrance has wrapped up.

Like hanging up ornaments on your Christmas tree, construction crews are placing finishing touches across Epic Universe. The new theme park is set for its grand opening on May 22, 2025 in Orlando, Fla. Our eye in the sky @bioreconstruct on X delivered a new set of aerial construction photos (captured mid-February 2025) documenting ornamentation throughout the new theme park, as well as the park’s entrance/icon, the Chronos tower.

Epic Universe Chronos

Work on the Chronos device appears to be complete, with medallions and orbs representing the Epic Universe worlds guests will be able to travel to inside the park. The same objects on the Chronos will sit atop the portals to their respective lands.

Chronos

A statue of who is presumably a resident of Celestial Park rests on the side of the Chronos. On the Chronos sits the Time Turner, representing The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic. A medallion with Mario on it represents Super Nintendo World. The orange globe with a silhouette of Toothless the dragon represents How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk.

At the very bottom of the objects representing these immersive worlds is an orb filled with purple haze. This purple orb represents Dark Universe, the land based on the Universal Classic Monsters.

At the top of the Chronos is an orb that will spin and light up at night. Although it doesn’t have an official name, it sure will be a sight to behold when entering Epic Universe at night.

The Chronos has a message inscribed on both sides. On the entrance, the portal to Celestial Park greets guests with: “Beyond this gate find gardens green, and epic worlds to fill your dreams.” On the opposite side, facing guests as they exit the park, the portal reads: “You wonder next which path to chart. The answer lies within your heart.”

At the entrance to Atlantic, Celestial Park’s seafood restaurant, mermaids have been installed above the pillars around the restaurant. These mermaids are seen admiring a pearl inside of a half seashell. The mermaids are still being worked on, as most of their tails have yet to be finished and are wrapped up in plastic.

On the roof of Frosty Moon sits a new pink ice cream cone with golden rings orbiting around it.

How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk

The head of the Snow Wraith has been installed inside the Isle of Berk. This dragon head will act as a “cool off” feature as it sprays guests with a mist. The bottom half of this feature is being worked on off to the side.

Dark Universe

Inside the village of Darkmoor, a skeleton has been placed on a wooden stake acting as a lamp post.

Helios statue at Epic Universe

At the opposite end of Celestial Park from the Chronos tower at the Epic Universe main entrance, where the Helios Grand hotel sits, is the now-finished Helios statue. While the pools beneath him have not yet been filled with water, this statue is absolutely breathtaking.
