President of Walt Disney World wishes luck to Epic Universe, Universal Orlando’s new theme park
Jeff Vahle has some kind words for Universal Epic Universe.
Today, ahead of Universal Epic Universe’s grand opening tomorrow on May 22, 2025 in Orlando, Fla., Jeff Vahle, President of Walt Disney World Resort, wished Universal Orlando good luck on their new park.
In an Instagram post shared this morning, Vahle delivered some well wishes to the Universal Orlando Resort as its teams prepare for the Epic Universe grand opening: “It takes great passion and dedication to bring new projects to life. Best of luck to the Universal Orlando team with the opening of Epic Universe! Another big win for tourism in Florida.”

It’s always nice to see the two biggest theme parks in Orlando wish each other the best in their newest endeavors! Epic Universe is the first Universal or Disney theme park to open in the U.S. in 24 years, since Disney California Adventure opened on Feb. 8, 2001 in Anaheim, Calif. The last traditional theme park to open at the Universal Orlando Resort was Islands of Adventure, back on May 28, 1999.
