New theme park breaks ground in China: Iqiyi Land
Iqiyi, China’s leading online entertainment platform, plans to enter the theme park game, opening a brand-new theme park, Iqiyi Land, later this year.

Theme park fans have plenty to look forward to in the upcoming months. Universal Epic Universe at Universal Orlando opens May 22, 2025, with team member previews happening now. Disney made several announcements and updates at the 2025 SXSW event. While the American Heartland Theme Park appears delayed regarding its opening, a new theme park in China intends to open this year.
Iqiyi, China’s leading online entertainment platform, announced plans to develop its first theme park, Iqiyi Land. Iqiyi functions primarily as a Chinese subscription video-on-demand streaming service owned by Baidu. The company is based in Beijing, China. Iqiyi mainly produces and distributes films and television series. However, in recent years, it has expanded to off-line entertainment.
Using only Iqiyi’s intellectual properties, the Iquiyi Land theme park will open in Yangzhou, Jiangsu Province. According to Iqiyi, this new entertainment destination will be empowered by cutting-edge technology to deliver fully immersive experiences for visitors. Iqiyi desires to maximize the power of its intellectual properties with this theme park in much the same way Disney and Universal do with their IP.
Set to open later this year, Iqiyi Land will feature seven entertainment sections. These will include an immersive theater, a holographic light space, in interactive performance theater, a film set interaction area, NPC (non-player character) experiences, MR (mixed reality) party games, and other offline activities. The theme park will also offer themed dining options and exclusive merchandise. Iquiyi Land is designed to increase local tourism, morale, and excitement in the local community.
Iquiyi Land will ‘reimagine Chinese storytelling through technology‘

This new theme park seeks to build on Iquiyi’s track record in offline entertainment ventures. The company has showcased the potential of its intellectual properties by successfully operating immersive theaters integrating its properties and VR technology at over 40 venues across more than 20 cities in China.
“Iquiyi Land marks a significant milestone in our offline experience business strategy,” said Yu GONG, founder and CEO of Iquiyi. “By integrating cutting-edge technology with our extensive portfolio of IPs, we aim to create immersive entertainment experiences that transport visitors into a dream world of film and TV.”

“Yangzhou’s rich heritage, vibrant cultural tourism, and innovative spirit make it the ideal location for this venture, perfectly aligned with our mission to reimagine Chinese storytelling through technology and offer a new cultural landmark in the city’s Grand Canal area,” added GONG.
Location of new theme park in China
In Yangzhou, Iqiyi Land, most residents of China can easily reach this new theme park by high-speed train or car. Also, Yangzhou’s location on the high-speed rail system allows international guests to travel to and enjoy this new theme park more easily.
This location will also be part of the city’s “Ten Miles of the Grand Canal” demonstration zone, a key component of a more significant initiative to revitalize the overall area of China. This initiative seeks to blend cultural tourism, leisure, and commercial development.
The theme park industry continues to expand worldwide. We do not know the specific intellectual properties being used at this new theme park in China. Nonetheless, we expect that information to be released in the near future.
