After years of seeing Universal Epic Universe from above the park, we have our first look from the ground-level — inside during previews.

Team members’ photos during previews
Previews of Epic Universe are underway for team members (employees) of Universal Orlando, ahead of the new theme park’s official grand opening on May 22. While preview visitors are strictly prohibited from posting photos of their own for the time being, they are allowed to post their portraits captured by the park’s professional photographers (aka Colorvision).
In Celestial Park, visitors’ Colorvision photos are framed by illustrated versions of the Epic Universe portals. The photo below was captured just inside the front gates. Note Universal Helios Grand Hotel and Constellation Carousel in the background. Also note the scale of the Luna statue. It’s huge!

For reference, below is a recent bioreconstruct aerial photo showing the location at which the above photo was captured; in between the Chronos tower and the Luna statue.

Below is an additional bioreconstruct aerial photo showing the distance between the landmarks that appear closer together in the Colorvision photo above.

In Dark Universe, team members encounter various residents of Darkmoor Village. These include Ygor, the assistant of Dr. Victoria Frankenstein…

…and the Bride of Frankenstein.

Over in Berk, Toothless is all-smiles as he and Berk’s Vikings welcome team members inside their home at Haddock Paddock, a dedicated meet & greet spot.

Team members are also allowed to post photos of Epic Universe merchandise they purchase during previews, providing a first look at Captain Cacao, an original character created for the park who happens to be a chocolate bear.
