Megan Thee Stallion opening anime cosplay Airbnb in Los Angeles
Megan Thee Stallion and Airbnb will host an anime cosplay attraction in Los Angeles, Calif., called Otaku Hottie Quest.
Airbnb announced the news on May 13, 2025, along with a slate of other changes to their business (see below).
Megan Thee Stallion’s Otaku Hottie Quest Airbnb experience includes:
- building your own anime cosplay outfit with provided wardrobe and accessories (which you get to keep)
- competing in a “floor is lava” game at Megan’s Hottie Lava Lounge
- playing in a “Mortal Kombat” Xbox competition with other visitors
- creating your own ramen dish at a toppings bar
- enjoying a Chicas Divertidas tequila with Megan Thee Stallion
How to register for Megan Thee Stallion’s Airbnb experience: Registration is free. Request a visit in the Airbnb app (though this does not guarantee selection).
How Airbnb will select attendees: “First, we’ll randomly choose a set of potential guests. Next, we’ll review their answers for unique perspectives and connections with the celebrity. Then, we’ll invite selected guests to book.”
The adventure takes place in the Otakuverse, a realm created by Megan Thee Stallion. The experience lasts less than three hours.
“You know I love a good cosplay moment,” Megan Thee Stallion wrote on the Airbnb event page. “My passion for anime has always been front and center, even in my music. It’s more than entertainment, it’s a way to express different sides of myself, shape-shifting into whoever I want to be —a nd I want that for you, too! But to activate your inner Otaku, you gotta earn it. Complete my Otaku Hottie Quest to unlock a whole new persona.”
Airbnb Experiences
Megan Thee Stallion’s Otaku Hottie Quest is one example of Airbnb Experiences, a new program designed to provide local activities for Airbnb guests.
“If you know your city deeply and offer a unique activity that’s not available anywhere else,” Airbnb says, “apply to become a host at Airbnb.com/host/experiences.”
Airbnb Services
Also just announced are Airbnb Services, a suite of amenities for Airbnb guests akin to at a hotel. Such services include visits from chefs, photographer, yoga trainers, barbers, makeup artists, manicurists, and caterers.
