Cedar Point tops out new tilt roller coaster Siren’s Curse for 2025

Cedar Point recently installed the top-most element of Siren’s Curse, North America’s tallest, longest, and fastest tilt roller coaster.

These latest photos show the “tilt” element of the roller coaster being mounted at its peak height of 160 feet on Feb. 4, 2025. The tilt is made up of a train-length piece of track that will slowly tilt riders 90 degrees to fall straight down the ride’s tallest hill. The installation of this highest piece of track, known as “topping out,” marks a milestone in the assembly of any coaster.

Siren’s Curse was designed for Cedar Point by Vekoma Rides Manufacturing, which is currently the world’s only manufacturer of tilt-track roller coasters. Vekoma is also currently building a similar tilt roller coaster at Cotaland in Texas by the name of Circuit Breaker. Both will be among North America’s first tilt coasters, though it is currently unclear which will officially become the first.

Cedar Point themed its tilt roller coaster after the mythical sirens of Lake Erie. It will feature integrated on-ride audio and LED lighting to match the train’s progress through the track, particularly as riders ascend the tilt tower. There, riders will “hear the echo of the siren’s chilling melodies as they ascend an old 160-foot-tall Lake Erie shipping crane tower.”

Siren’s Curse will be 2,966 feet long and will reach a top speed of 58 mph. Apart from the tilt track element, the roller coaster will feature 13 airtime spots, two barrel rolls, and a unique “triple-down” element with high-speed overbanked track. It will be located across from Iron Dragon and near the Cedar Point Marina.
