Mega Movie Summer at Universal Studios Hollywood
Calling all movie fans! Universal Studios Hollywood in California is introducing Universal Mega Movie Summer, an all-new daily seasonal event from June 13 through Aug. 10, 2025 — and it’s included with theme park admission.
Designed to offer “the best summer day in L.A.,” Universal Mega Movie Summer will feature themed menu items, all-new collections of exclusive merchandise, and “in-world” movie-themed offerings across the theme park.
Jurassic World—The Ride featuring Mosasaurus Splash
To mark the debut of “Jurassic World Rebirth” in theaters on July 2, 2025, Universal Studios Hollywood’s water-soaked — and dino-filled — thrill ride will welcome four new Spitter dinosaurs, and the “menacing roar of a Mosasaurus” will enhance the attraction’s 84-foot drop.
Guests will also be able to meet an all-new dinosaur from “Jurassic World Rebirth” and an all-new adventure character inspired by the movie alongside Blue the Velociraptor, Juliet the Triceratops, and Baby Tango; a Spinosaurus dinosaur photo op will allow guests to step into a thrilling scene from the film for a memorable photo; and a scavenger hunt game featuring Compy will offer a dino-sized challenge.
Last but certainly not least, Jurassic Cafe will offer new prehistoric delicacies, and Isla Nubarwill feature two new cocktails: The Jurassic Water Rebirth and Spicy Jurassic Paradise.
Celebrate the 50th Anniversary of “Jaws”
To celebrate the golden anniversary of the very first summer blockbuster, Universal Studios Hollywood is not only bringing back the iconic hanging shark photo op, but is also debuting meet and greet characters, Captain Quint and Chief Brody.
“Jaws” will also be featured on the studio backlot’s Hollywood Sign replica and the Jaws Lake attraction will be celebrating July 4th all summer long.
On the park’s Upper Lot, Hollywood & Dine will be taken over by Amity Island Cafe, serving a shark-inspired menu, including a Lobster Roll, Vegan Crab Cake Sandwich, Fish and Chips, Fish and Chicken Basket, Shark Bait Burger, Shark Fin Funnel Cake, Amity Island Parfait and Amity Beach Lifesaver Donut, as well as The Shark Bite cocktail and Amity Open Water non-alcoholic beverage.
Clock 40 years of ‘Back to the Future’
To mark “Back to the Future’s” 40th anniversary, the DeLorean Time Machine from the movie will be parked on the Upper Lot for photo ops with Doc Brown, Marty McFly, and Einstein the dog.
The menu at the 50s-style Mel’s Diner will feature “Back to the Future” bites and sips, including The Flux Capacitor Patty Melt, Time Machine Pastrami Melt, Doc Brown’s Chicken Pot Pie, Outatime Cookie, Time Traveler’s Milk Shake, Flux Capacitor Mocktail, and Wake Up Juice Cocktail.

A 730-pound Toothless from the live-action “How to Train Your Dragon” movie (opening in theaters on June 13) will measure nearly 6 feet tall, 24 feet long, and 8 feet wide, providing a dragon-sized photo op and a dedicated food cart in Universal Plaza will serve Toothless and Light Fury cookies and a Toothless popcorn bucket.
The witches of “Wicked” will greet guests at the themed photo op near the park’s main entrance.
To gear up for the 2026 debut of the Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift high-speed outdoor roller coaster, park guests will get a sneak peek at one of the ride vehicles designed to look like Dominic Toretto’s 1970 Dodge Charger.
Mega Movie Summer at Universal CityWalk
Universal Cinema – The perfect place to see “How to Train Your Dragon” and “Jurassic World Rebirth” will also screen the original “Back to the Future” movie on July 3, 2025.
Voodoo Doughnut – The Jaws-themed Doughnut Go In the Water plus Little Stepper and Big Stepper treats inspired by “Jurassic World Rebirth.”
The Universal Studio Store and Cartooniversal – Both locations will carry merchandise based on Universal Mega Movie Summer offerings.
Universal Mega Movie Summer will run daily at Universal Studios Hollywood from June 13 through Aug. 10, 2025, and is included with theme park admission.
