In June 2024, aerial photographer bioreconstruct flew over the construction site of Universal Epic Universe — the new theme park opening in 2025 at Universal Orlando — and captured images revealing many of the “citizens” and “business” of Orlando’s third Wizarding World. Like many theme park spaces, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic will display traces of the people who “live” and “work” within its fictional lore.

New to Epic Universe? Let’s catch you up: Universal’s new park will contain five themed worlds, including The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic. This area will depict both 1920s France (specifically Place Cachée, as seen in “Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald”) and 1990s Britain (as seen in the “Harry Potter” films). Universal has yet to announce specific attractions for this third Wizarding World, which will be located separate from Universal Orlando’s existing “Harry Potter” areas of its other parks (Hogsmeade at Universal Islands of Adventure and Diagon Alley at Universal Studios Florida).

Update, Aug. 1, 2024: This week, Universal officially revealed the attractions of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic. The area will spotlight a new ride starring Delores Umbridge and a new theatrical stage show featuring magical creatures.

As construction workers remove longstanding scaffolding from the façades of Place Cachée (French for “Hidden Place”), they inadvertently unveil painted signage for each building’s place of business.

A Quidditch store and vegetable shop are among the alleyways’ occupants, alongside specialists in the industries of catering, ancient texts, and livestock.

Zooming out, fake chimneys populate the rooftops, their flumes descending to nowhere.

Similarly, beyond the streets’ borders, construction teams erected a structure that will eventually perform a similar function: indicating a layered community whose geographic footprint will appear to the guest much denser than it actually is.

With all that’s happening outside, one can only imagine the progress at work within the interiors of this new Wizarding World — particularly inside the massive show building pictured below, which will house the area’s to-be-announced attraction(s).
