Epic Universe construction update: Hiccup’s Wing Gliders roller coaster testing
Hiccup’s Wing Gliders — the “How to Train Your Dragon” roller coaster at Epic Universe — is testing, complete with a splash effect.

Hiccup’s Wing Gliders will be the resident roller coaster of How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk in Epic Universe.
From Hiccup’s workshop comes his latest contraption: a winged flying machine that launches aspiring Dragon Riders into the air, swooping and soaring and encountering Hiccup and Toothless along the way. Get ready to board Hiccup’s Wing Gliders, a fun coaster that invites Vikings to prove they’re brave enough to speed through the sky with dragons.

Hiccup’s Wing Gliders testing
Universal is now cycling Hiccup’s Wing Gliders for test runs. The coaster maneuvers its way throughout the entirety of Berk, including over and under pedestrian walkways, contributing to the masterful kinetic energy of the land.
The coaster also traverses over a lagoon, activating a splash effect.
Details of Hiccup’s Wing Gliders
bioreconstruct noticed the coaster trains reaching their second launch along the track and then rolling back. Will the ride behave that way as part of the story, or is this simply a check of safety procedures?
Zooming in affords the opportunity to notice the detail of the coaster train and surrounding props, including Hiccup’s contraption on the back of the vehicle and a baby dragon off to the side.

Elsewhere in Berk beyond Hiccup’s Wing Gliders, construction crews installed these dragon “carvings.” They look eager to welcome guests to Epic Universe.
